you win by trying

I have never been fond of losing. I grew up with the belief that if I set my mind on something, I would and could achieve it. My youth revolves around winning. I can’t recall a time in my life when I lost.

My confident and persistent mindset led me to believe that things would go exactly as planned, but little did I know that it wouldn’t unfold as I had anticipated.

Yesterday, I missed out on winning a contest that I was determined to win. When my name wasn’t called, I felt a surge of disappointment wash over me. However, this setback has only fueled my determination to succeed.

It made me realize that many people wouldn’t even join a contest and wouldn’t even try. However, I still made the effort to join.

The fact that I tried made me eager to believe that I won.

Whenever you feel an ounce of disappointment because you’ve lost or failed — remember that life is just teaching you something. Maybe it’s because you’re meant for something bigger or it is showing you the right path. Look for the signs and view it as a way to improve.

I know failing is such a heavy feeling that is hard to outweigh. However, every failure brings you one step closer to success!

If you’re skeptical to try because you’re afraid of failure, always remember that you’ve already won by trying.
