I know what it’s like to want to end one’s life. The overwhelming desire to buy a rope and hang it on your ceiling or to pick up a blade and glide it through your skin.

When dark thoughts consume you at night or when simple things such as waking up are such a heavy task.

I’ve experienced it all, and trust me, it will get better.

This month serves as a reminder that we are not alone. Suicide is a concerning issue that we should not take lightly. Let’s prioritize our mental health just as we do our physical health.

If you are mentally drained and feel as if you’re better off dead in this world, I want you to take a deep breath and remember how much loved you are. You might not feel it right now, or people might not express it — but I know a lot of people who will be sad when you’re gone.

The pressure and problems will always be there, but you can always lessen it. Surround yourself with people who genuinely care for you. Do things that you enjoy. Be grateful for the little things in life. Look at the sky and whisper your deepest plea.

At the end of the day, no matter how disappointed and sad you are, I want you to sleep with the mindset that everything will be better in time. Trust.

I’m proud of you for existing. I’m proud of you for fighting. I’m proud of you for waking up despite it all.

Be gentle with yourself, love.
