As I gaze out my foggy window, cozy with a cup of coffee in hand and wrapped in a warm blanket, I can’t help but revel in the beauty of rainy days.
Being in this state is such a rare and extraordinary experience. Rainy days signify comfort and a much-needed time for rest.
Suddenly, I noticed a group of children struggling to find a safe shelter to shield themselves from the rain, while kittens wandered around, shivering in the cold, and dogs were digging through garbage to find food.
Some of us are cozy in bed, feeling joyful because there are no classes — while others are suffering and fighting to live despite the calamity.
It is a privilege to be happy amidst a typhoon.
It is a privilege to have shelter, to eat 3x a day, to have water to quench your thirst, and to have clothes to wear.
Let us all stay mindful of what’s around us, be informative, and let’s use our resources in the right way.
